A couple of weeks after the release of Flex 2.01, and Adobe are opening talking about the next planned release of Flex, Flex 3.0.
Ted has a post here and you can register your interst to join an advisory panel here.
To sum up what Ted says the main subject is that Flex 3.0 will be targeted at Flash Player 9.
I tend to agree this is a good idea. This will mean that the player penetration will be high and it won’t be a factor on companies taking the decision to use Flex.
Ted is also demoing some of the new features at the 360Flex keynote. Can’t wait to see on the blogs what they’re up to!

Maybe I’m missing the context here, but isn’t Flex 2 Flash Player 9 only either?

Hey pan69
Yep Flex 2.0 also targets the Flash Player 9. So the clarify the next version of Flex will target the same player.
pan69, the important thing is that when Flex 3 comes out, Flash Player 9 will probably have something like 90% penetration. So developers can immediately create and deploy Flex 3 Apps without any of the wait for the version penetration to rise to an acceptable level. That’s pretty cool.
