Tinic is Principal Engineer on the Macromedia Flash Player and has been posting lots of detailed info on whats been going on with the development of the new Flash Player. Really interesting stuff.
I heard the other evening that Screenweaver was coming back as an Open Source project on OSFlash and to confirm it heres a post on Edwins blog.
Screenweaver was a great product and I can’t wait to see this progress!
Reel World rocks! This design of this site isn’t really my personal taste (mainly the 3D look), but it just feels so usable and lightweight.
Kudos to whoever developed it.
I’ve been soo busy this week, that its took me 3 days to make this post. Some of you may know that i used moderate and hang round at Flash Group UK. I learnt so much there over the years and hopefully passed some knowledge on to other poeple. (more…)
I love the way type is treated in the series of First Direct TV ads by WCRS. They’ve been around for a while and there are many of them now, but unfortunately i can only find one to link to.
Inspire Me is a new project by Brendan Dawes and Magnetic North.
InspireMe.tv presents personal insights into creativity, filmed by the artists themselves. No script. No instructions. Just a brief to show the world what inspires them, what books are on their shelves right now, where they work or simply talk about what’s on their mind at that moment in time.
The new FileReference object enables you to upload and download files using Flash 8 and a server side script (required for upload only).
Here is an example I put together for the forthcoming book by friends of ED titled ‘Flash 8 Upgrade Essentials’. In the chapter I walk through the ActionScript file and FLA and explain how it all works. The other authors on the book are Matt Voerman, Craig Swann, Glen Rhodes, Todd Yard and Guy Watson.
The book should be out early November so save your pennies!
